Western New York tire retailer and automotive services provider Dunn Tire is teaming with one of Buffalo’s greatest football legends to help local children catch a love for reading.
Dunn Tire is working with NFL Hall of Fame receiver Andre Reed to sponsor the “Read with Reed 83 Challenge,” which kicked off Friday at the Boys & Girls Club of the Northtowns, 54 Riverdale Ave. The goal of the program is to “encourage kids to exercise their minds, tackle a good book, catch the love of reading, understand that reading is a way ‘out and up,’ and plan to read at least 30 minutes each day.”
The Andre Reed Foundation family mourns the death of our great friend and brother, Nate Hobgood-Chittick (1974-2017). Nate was a star player at William Allen High School and the University of North Carolina, and won a Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams. He was a devoted husband and father. Nate will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Chin is kidnapped by a cartel in Mexico and Five-0 races to rescue him before he is executed by his vengeful abductors. Meanwhile, Grover goes undercover as a car salesman to investigate a murder that turns out to be far more complex. Hall of Fame Buffalo Bills player, Andre Reed, guest stars as car dealership manager.
Reed was invited to speak to the Chargers by General Manager Tom Telesco, who formed a bond with the wide receiver when he served as an intern with the Buffalo Bills in the early nineties.
“Tom was an intern with the Bills back when I played, and he’d run to get balls on different fields two or three miles away!” he joked. “I’m just proud of him with what he’s done and how he’s come to be. His knowledge of the game is definitely going to bode well for the team. He asked me to come out here and speak to the team about my experiences in the game, how I played so long and all those types of things. Of course I’d love to. It’s a great opportunity to talk to these young guys.”
