Bills Backers Challenge rules

Who can participate
Bills Backers chapters and sports bars in the United States may apply. There is no entry fee. Each team represents one confirmed physical bar location. The foundation confirms participation and location eligibility before activating a team.
Competition window
October 1, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. through December 25, 2026 at 11:59 p.m., America/New_York. Pages and materials may be available before donations open. The winning bar is announced a few days after the window closes.
How donations count
Rankings use completed donations attributed to each bar during the competition window. Platform tips, processing fees, failed payments, test payments and refunded amounts do not count. Unassigned donations support the cause but do not count for a bar until the foundation verifies attribution. Givebutter displays the shared standings; the foundation reconciles qualifying transactions after the close.
The prizes
1st place bar. The top fundraising bar wins Andre Reed hosting a Bills watch party at the bar, planned for the Bills’ second-to-last regular-season game (scheduled for January 3, 2027). Appearance details and travel arrangements are coordinated with Andre and the winning location, subject to Andre Reed’s availability. The watch party is awarded if total qualifying donations to the Challenge reach at least $5,000 by the end of the competition window. If they do not, the top bar’s standing carries over: it keeps the watch-party prize for the next season’s Bills Backers Challenge, on a date coordinated with the Foundation. All other prizes are awarded as described below.
Top 3 bars. Each of the three top fundraising bars receives signed Andre Reed memorabilia.
Top donors. At each of the three top bars, the four individual donors with the largest total completed donations through that bar’s team page during the competition window play free as a foursome, as the foundation’s guests, at its next East Coast (Allentown, PA) or West Coast (Rancho Santa Fe, CA) golf tournament. The prize is free tournament entry; travel, lodging and other expenses are not included. Tournament, date and participation details are confirmed with each donor.
Every bar. Each participating bar receives a thank-you card signed by Andre Reed.
Prizes are awarded by results; no one is entered into a drawing. No cash equivalent. Winners are responsible for any taxes on prizes they receive.
Ties and corrections
If qualifying totals tie, the bar that first reached the final tied amount wins. If those transaction timestamps also tie, the earlier recorded confirmed bar registration wins. Tied donor totals rank by whoever first reached the tied amount. Contact the foundation promptly about attribution errors; any changes must be supported by transaction records. The winner is announced after the totals are verified.
How funds are handled
Fans donate directly to the foundation through Givebutter. Bars display the materials and do not collect or handle donations. Keep donations voluntary and separate from purchases. Gifts support Read with Reed 83 literacy programs and reading rooms in Boys & Girls Clubs.
